Any interested person may request the Department of Intellectual Property Rights cancel the geographical indication registration.

The Department of Intellectual Property Rights will cancel the registration if:

1. The rights​​ owner does not respect and follow the conditions in the application;
2. The rights owner of the registered geographical indication requests for cancellation;
3. The registered geographical indication lose its special characteristic as geographical indication goods
4. Foreign geographical indication which is not, cease to be protected or disuse in its country of origin;
5. The address for service in the Kingdom of Cambodia cannot be communicated minimum 3 times by any means within 3 months;
6. The rights owner of the registered geographical indication does not follow the conditions of submitting the supported documents as prescribed in Article 17 of the GI law,
7. The rights owner does not comply with the law and regulations.

The Department of Intellectual Property Rights will examine the observation for cancellation by verifying the fact and evaluate in order to make decision to confirm, amend or cancel the geographical indication based on the this law and regulations in force.

The cancellation of a registered geographical indication will be deemed to have been effective from the date of the decision.

The cancellation of a registered geographical indication will be recorded and published in the official gazette and will be publicized immediately.
