The Department of Intellectual Property of Ministry of Commerce of Kingdom of Cambodia publishes the Official Gazette in a weekly basis.

This Official Gazette is divided into five parts.

• Part I : for the new registration
• Part II : for the renewal
• Part III : for the change, assignment, merger, and cancellation
• Part IV : for correction
• Part V: for International Mark Registration (Madrid Protocol)

The Department of Intellectual Property has already prepared a new law concerning Marks, Trade Names and Acts of Unfair Competition with the assistance of the World Intellectual Property Organization. This law passed the Council of Ministers on October 27, 2000, adopted by the National Assembly on December 6, 2001, ratified by the Senate as to its entire form and legality on January 08, 2002 and promulgated on February 07, 2002.

The Department of Intellectual Property is cooperating closely with the Economic Police of the Ministry of Interior, the Customs Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Camcontrol ( Cambodia Import Export Inspection and Fraud Suppression Department ) of the Ministry of Commerce to eliminate trademark infringement in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Department of Intellectual Property wishes to express its utmost thanks to all parties who have contributed their assistance to this Department in drafting the new law and in performing its duties for the best interests of investors and trademark owners.

The Department of Intellectual Property requires continuous support and cooperation from all relevant parties to enable this Department to carry out and execute its duties with more efficiency and effectiveness.
